CPPD was first established in 1986 as a training organisation in Humanistic Integrative Counselling and practitioner personal development. The organisation has evolved over the years and has become one of the leading Humanistic Integrative Counselling Training Schools in the United Kingdom. The Advanced Diploma (Professional Training) in Humanistic Integrative Counselling became BACP (The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Accredited in 1999, and we have been based at our Hornsey Training Centre for the past six years.

CPPD is committed to high professional standards in its teaching and clinical practices. A key part of our philosophy is to respect and respond to each of our students as individuals. We aim to ensure that our training is responsive to the experiences and needs of all of our students and each group as a whole. Our commitment to creating an inclusive community of learners is central to our identity as a training institution. We are a small training organisation, and seek to fashion high quality relationships throughout the organisation. Part of our strength lies in our ability to create a cohesive student group, and we are helped in this by our commitment to maintaining a small group size at every stage of the training.

Since Jenny and Lynne took over as CPPD Directors in 1998, the development and growth of the organisation has been exponential. With the advent of the requirement for professionalism in counselling training field they have:

• Gained BACP accreditation for the professisonal counselling programme in both London and N Ireland

• Moved to the current premises and have created a centre which is loved by the students which has an energy that support their creative and often challenging work and learning.
